Who Benefits from a FTZ?
Many companies can receive the benefits of a Foreign-Trade Zone. If your
company does any of the following, you may consider using Foreign-Trade
Zone No. 129.
- Imports merchandise which is subject to U.S. Customs duties
- Imports merchandise which needs to be inspected, marked, labeled, relabeled,
repaired, destroyed, repackaged, tested, sampled or cleaned before entry
into the U.S. Customs territory.
- Assembles, manufactures, processes or manipulates, produces goods
consisting of foreign or co-mingled domestic and foreign
merchandise.
- Imports merchandise, which must be stored for an uncertain period of
time.
- Imports merchandise which is subject to quota restrictions.
- Imports merchandise which in part of whole will be re-exported
- Imports merchandise for which an inverted tariff exists for the
finished good and its component parts or vice versa.
- Imports merchandise which is displayed demonstrated to potential
buyers.
- Imports merchandise, which cannot enter U.S. Customs territory due to
a technicality.
