Who Benefits from a FTZ?

Many companies can receive the benefits of a Foreign-Trade Zone.
If your company does any of the following, you may consider using Foreign-Trade Zone No. 129.

  • Imports merchandise which is subject to U.S. Customs duties
  • Imports merchandise which needs to be inspected, marked, labeled, relabeled, repaired, destroyed, repackaged, tested, sampled or cleaned before entry into the U.S. Customs territory.
  • Assembles, manufactures, processes or manipulates, produces goods consisting of foreign or co-mingled domestic and foreign merchandise.
  • Imports merchandise, which must be stored for an uncertain period of time.
  • Imports merchandise which is subject to quota restrictions.
  • Imports merchandise which in part of whole will be re-exported
  • Imports merchandise for which an inverted tariff exists for the finished good and its component parts or vice versa.
  • Imports merchandise which is displayed demonstrated to potential buyers.
  • Imports merchandise, which cannot enter U.S. Customs territory due to a technicality.
